Since Google decided to integrate tweets into their search results, Twitter has seen an increase to their desktop traffic of 20% (35 million monthly visits) along with a decrease to their bounce rates of 6.5% over the last six months.
Moreover, Twitter feed has started showing up in search results just below company websites, mainly for branded keywords and people.
This is a great opportunity for brands to get additional exposure and boost their organic search traffic from the popular search engine.
In response to this, Twitter is also making changes to their following rules and decided to increase the follow limit from 2000 to 5000. From now on people will not be barred from blindly following hundreds of accounts or following and unfollowing profiles repeatedly. You can read here about all these updated rules.
